Emergency First Aid for Child Carers

A twelve hour emergency first aid course designed to meet the needs of those involved in the care of babies and young children. This course satisfies the mandatory requirements for those undertaking Modern Apprenticeships in Early Years Care & Education, Surestart guidelines, and Ofsted requirements.

Aims of the Course

At the end of the course participants will be able to:

• Assess and prioritise a first aid incident
• Deal with an unconscious child or baby
• Carry out resuscitation on a child or baby
• Control bleeding and manage shock
• Recognise and deal with a wide range of common injuries and illnesses until the arrival of medical care

Length of the Course

Twelve hours

Course Certification

Continual assessment will take place throughout the course. On successful completion of the course participants will be awarded an Emergency First Aid For Child Carers certificate which is valid for 3 years.

Course Location

Delivered on site in the workplace nationwide.
